When she was tiny, Little Inaaya always found herself fascinated by big places and big words. She thought knowing them would make her smart and special. Growing up reading Alice in Wonderland can change a kid’s perspective on what’s real and what’s not, you see. When she grew up, the thirst to visit places and learn words only grew with her. But what also grew stronger, was her fascination for magic. She knew she wouldn’t find Mister Rabbit or grow 9 feet tall, but who said magic needs to be seen?
Still a little girl at heart, Inaaya walked into unknown terrains, searching for that one moment of bliss which would define magic to her. She walked through the woods, then the parks, and but it was only when she neared the end of her walk that she see it: Her Wonderland. There it was: a perfect blue sky, merging into the greens of the forests and a lake so clear, it reflected the whole scenery in perfection. Untouched, pristine and picturesque, the view was surely nature getting artsy and painting for fun, but that is what breathed life into Inaaya’s out-of-breath lungs! “This is it!” she screamed as she ran, content on finally having found it. Alice was so dearly being missed as Inaaya sat their remembering her lessons. Magic is not a talking rabbit. Magic is when you get what you’ve dearly wanted. A bored Alice had once imagined a whole world. A tired Inaaya had imagined peace. Inaaya found peace. Finally-“Inaaya!” she heard a voice in the distance, “Where are you, Inaaya?”
She shook her head as she stood up and brushed of the dirt from her skirt. Her father had managed to find her. Yet again. Sometimes she wondered if her father had put a GPS tracking chip on her when she was born because no matter where Inaaya went, he always found her. She smiled thinking to herself that if only temporary, she did find peace.
