Aye Haaalooo!
Haha. I am sorry for being excruciatingly cheesy and annoying but well, dandiya season is here and this is my Look 1/3 of the Navratri series! Navratri is one of the most awaited festivals in the state of Gujarat where people start preparing months in advance on what would they be wearing, where would they be going and what would they be eating during Garba. Being rich in textiles and colours, this state projects some of the most beautiful outfits in the ten-days of Garba. While men and women are looking for outfits for all the nine days, I decided to do my version of a garba-inspired party look for a Navratri Party. The idea was to experiment and enjoy in the process.
I was out shopping with my family when my eyes fell on this beautifully hand-embroidered skirt at Sanskruti. It was so perfect that by the time the salesman took it out for me to see, I knew I needed it. I could imagine so many ways in which this could be styled and worn. Today is just one of the few! I am wearing it as a high-waisted skirt to kind of merge hi-fashion with desi street style. The white ganjee is to emphasise more on the boho statement necklace and let the colour of the skirt pop-out a little more. The sunglasses, I felt, added the right amount of swag to this look, hence.
I had tons of fun shooting this look for all of you. I was twirling around and giggling in joy on the streets of Ahmedabad as we wandered around looking for locations. I hope you guys enjoy reading it as much! Oh and also, special thanks to Disha di for so sportingly being my photographer for the day! I had so much fun working with her!
